Bangladesh Maritime University

A two days long workshop on "Advanced Research Methods in Shipping Sector" organized by Faculty of Shipping Administration at the auditorium of the temporary campus of Bangladesh Maritime University in Dhaka on 28-29 May 2025. The honourable Vice Chancellor of the university Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, NUP, ndc, psc, PhD presented the key note speech in the workshop and graced the closing ceremony of the workshop as Chief Guest. The Dean of the Faculty of Shipping Administration Commodore Md. Atiqur Rahman, Professor Dr. Mamun Habib, SBE, Independent University, Bangladesh, Dr. Shah Ridwan Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Management, Dhaka University, Md. Nazmus Sakib, Lecturer, Management, DU and Md. Masud Rana, Lecturer, Management, DU presented papers in the workshop. The Faculty Members and students of Department of Port and Shipping Management were the participants in the workshop. There were lots of findings  regarding the activities, automation, digitization, development of human resource, use of modern technologies, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shipping sector, International collaboration, different modelling and  research on shipping etc were discussed in the workshop. Capt Kazi Ali Imam, HoD, PSM addressed the summary of the workshop as Moderator.
