Department of International Cooperation and Exchange (INTCE)

The Department of International Cooperation and Exchange (INTCE) coordinates and conducts international cooperation activities for Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU). The main task of INTCE is to communicate with foreign universities and institutions for academic collaboration and capacity building of the university. It also acts as a bridge between BMU and foreign partners, as formalized through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). It is the central hub for managing the university's foreign exchanges, international programs, and initiatives, including student and faculty exchanges, scholarships, and international conferences. The activities currently carried out by INTCE include:

• Informing and advising the university community about various international programs that focus on higher education opportunities.
• Promoting and managing student and faculty mobility to and from foreign institutions within the framework of international programs, scholarships, and university cooperation agreements.
• Circulating scholarship-related documents in accordance with the provisions stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This includes eligibility criteria, application procedures, required documents, and deadlines.
• Providing information to BMU faculty about teacher exchange programs and international cooperation opportunities.
• Managing the acceptance of foreign exchange students, preparing guides for them, and providing information about BMU’s campuses, cities, reception processes, visas, travel, accommodation, registration, and study opportunities, in collaboration with the International Relations and Registrar sections of the university.
• Drafting and negotiating MoUs and International Cooperation Agreements. Currently, about 16 institutions and universities are in collaboration with BMU.
• Arranging for BMU personnel to participate in seminars, symposiums, and conferences both domestically and internationally by invitation.
