Bangladesh Maritime University

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh Maritime University organized a Seminar titled, "Intellectual Property Rights and Patents" on 22 May 2025 at the auditorium of the temporary campus in Dhaka. The honourable Vice Chancellor of the University Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, NUP, ndc, psc, PhD graced the seminar as Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Md. Sazzat Hossain Sarker, Food Engineering and Technology, Hazi Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University presented the keynote speech in the seminar.  Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazir Hossain, HoD, Genetic Engineering and Marine Biotechnology, BMU also presented a paper in the seminar. The Director of IQAC Captain Mohammad Mosharrof Hossain addressed his welcome speech in the seminar. The seminar was organised under the guideline of UGC in order to celebrate the "World Intellectual Property (IP) Day, 2025. The Chief Guest of the seminar emphasised on to follow the rules and guidelines strictly of intellectual property and copyright to prevent plagiarism in the university faculty members and researchers in their respective research works. He also encouraged them to conduct quality research and take initiative to get their research works patentable.
