Bangladesh Maritime University

The Department of Maritime Law and Policy, Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU), in collaboration with the Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL) organizing the BMU–BSIL 1st National Maritime Moot Court Competition 2026.

This is the first National Moot Court Competition in Bangladesh dedicated exclusively to Maritime Law. The competition aims to foster excellence in legal research, memorial drafting, and oral advocacy while encouraging meaningful engagement with contemporary issues in maritime law.

Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL) – Event Partner
The Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL) is a non-profit and non-partisan organisation dedicated to promoting research, scholarship, advocacy, and academic engagement in international law. Through conferences, publications, summer schools, and research initiatives, BSIL has emerged as a leading platform for nurturing the next generation of international lawyers.

Competition Format
The competition will be conducted in two stages:
• Memorial Evaluation Round
• Preliminary Oral Rounds
• Quarterfinals
• Semifinals
• Final
Following the memorial evaluation, the Top 20 teams will qualify for the Oral Rounds.

Important Dates
• Team Registration Deadline: 28 July 2026
• Clarification Seeking Deadline: 28 July 2026
• Memorial Submission Deadline: 8 August 2026
• Oral Rounds: 21–22 August 2026
