Four BMU Students Awarded Prestigious KOICA Scholarships


On 19 April 2026, Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU) organised a KOICA scholarship programme titled “Industrial Transformation-Oriented Program for Engineers and R&D Professionals in Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering.”

After a rigorous selection process, five Bangladeshi students were awarded the prestigious, fully funded KOICA scholarship this year, with four students from BMU and one from BUET. BMU students outshone students from BUET and MIST in the selection process. They will pursue higher education in Naval Architecture at Changwon National University, South Korea.

The four prodigious students from BMU’s Department of Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering are:

2. Md. Mynul Islam
3. Sangita Das
4. Ayon Paul
