International Association of Maritime Universities: Jointly developed project proposal titled “Good Governance of Multi-cultural Safety” with former WMU Assistant Professor Lisa Froholdt in 2014. The project was successfully completed in 2015.
Government of Canada: Jointly developed 15 successful proposals (see list of report publications below) with Former Vice President (Academics), Professor Neil Bellefontaine and Canadian Chair, in consultation with different departments of Transport Canada. The incumbent has served in the capacity of Principal Investigator/Lead Project Officer in all 15 projects. Collaboration with Transport Canada remains ongoing.
Jointly developed project proposal titled “Empowering Women for the United Nations decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development” with Professor Ronán Long and Professor Clive Schofield. The project has been operationalized in 2019 (currently ongoing) and funded by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Government of Canada).
Government of Sweden: Jointly developed project proposal titled “Land-to-Ocean Leadership Programme” with Professor Ronán Long and Professor Clive Schofield. The project has been operationalized in 2019 and has received co-funding from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
European Union Horizon 2020: This project titled “BUGWRIGHT2: Autonomous Robotic inspection and Maintenance on Ship Hulls” has received funding from the European Union’s horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 871260. As a Principal Investigator, the incumbent is developing reports and publications and supervising two Postdoctoral fellows.
Lloyd’s Register Foundation: People-centered Transition for Maritime Decarbonization in the
East Mediterranean has received funding from Lloyd’s Register Foundation.
