Bangladesh Maritime University Permanent Campus Progress Visit by the Honorable Vice Chancellor


On 19 January 2026, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Maritime University, Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, NBP, NUP, ndc, psc, PhD, visited the construction site of the University’s Permanent Campus to review the progress of ongoing development works. He was accompanied by Project Director Commodore Mohammad Joynal Abedin, (ND), NGP, ndc, afwc, psc, PhD, BN, Chief Engineer Colonel Mohammad Sanaullah, psc, and Superintendent Engineer Lieutenant Colonel Golam Mohiuddin, psc. During the visit, the Honorable Vice Chancellor and the accompanying officials provided necessary guidelines and directions to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe of 2026. The Vice Chancellor thoroughly inspected the entire project area and offered valuable suggestions for further improvement. He also emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability and instructed the authorities to plant coconut trees along with various fruit-bearing trees for the benefit of students and to enhance the overall campus environment. The Reverend Vice Chancellor, during his inspection of the Academic Circle, planted a sapling as part of the university’s green initiative. He also visited the workers’ and staff canteen, reviewed the quality of meals provided, and instructed the concerned officials to ensure proper nutrition and strict adherence to safety standards. It is hoped that upon completion of the construction, the campus will emerge as one of the most beautiful academic institutions in Bangladesh, fostering an inspiring learning environment where students will study with enthusiasm and develop the skills needed to contribute effectively to the maritime sector.
