Bangladesh Maritime University

The grand finale of the Intra-University Fresher’s Debate Tournament, organized by the Bangladesh Maritime University Debate Club was held on 11 January 2026 at the Auditorium of university’s temporary campus. A total of 16 teams participated in the competition. The final round featured by two teams and the opposition team emerged as the champion. The motion for the grand finale was “Long- Term Social and Economic Progress Depends on the Education System”. The honourable Vice- Chancellor, Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, NBP, NUP, ndc, psc, PhD, awarded the trophy to the champion team. Anonna Bhattacharjee from the opposition team was adjudged “Debater of the Tournament” for her outstanding performance. The programme was honoured by the presence of the mentor of BMU debate club and Director of IQAC, Captain Mohammad Mosharrof Hossain (N), psc, BN, along with other senior officers of the University. The event successfully highlighted the importance of intellectual discourse and critical thinking among students, and concluded with active participation and enthusiastic engagement from all teams.
